Ten Year Headache Ended!
by Candy  © 2007

Kerry's headache started September 1, 1995 - at the onset of the Lyme Disease.
Although all the other symptoms have come and gone, some returning and leaving
again, the only one persistent, continual non-stop symptom was "The Headache". It
wasn't like normal headaches - mostly in the back of her head, it travelled. For
years and years the headache was so severe as to totally incapacitate her, with her
crying out in pain, even dropping to the ground with her hands clutching her head.
It was the ever present reminder of the disease that engulfed her body, her mind
and her life. It eased up a lot in the past year or so where she wasn't aware of it all
the time, but it remained ever present.

Then just now, nonchalantly, she told me that most of the time she doesnt' have it!
She has a headache right now, but it's the same kind I have - very low weather
depression. She isn't aware of when it stopped, but now I know why she isn't
taking the medication she had been taking for it.

We pray this continues, but man - Glory be! What a miracle! We thought she'd be
living with this for the rest of her life! Hurray!

Past Shadows

The time has been so long
Eleven years, most of which is a blur
I know there were sad times
and happy times as well,
but still memory eludes me.
Now and again I get a flash
of a time that seems so long ago.

but..
when people ask me if i remember
this or that
i usually have to say no
and what i do recall has an underlying
sense of pain.
