Praying for Healing

Hebrews 11 is full of the great saints of the Bible who were "all commended for
their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised."  Heb 11:39

To me that says faith transcends our circumstances—that whether God chooses to
heal us in this life or through eternal life (when we will have new bodies that will never
be injured or sick again), I know He is faithful, good, loving, sovereign, all powerful,
holy, just, righteous, merciful.

Paul—to whom God often gave power to heal others—prayed earnestly for his
"thorn in the flesh" to be removed.  We don't know what exactly that was, but God
said that His power was made perfect in weakness.  So I pray for healing, knowing
that God will heal my husband either in this life or in the next.  I am willing to
relinquish my desire to control the timing of God's will for our lives.

Although healing is important, even critical to me, God's glory must be more so, and
that is the spiritual battle.  I pray for God to humble me that I may submit to whatever
will glorify Him, and that I may become less so that He may be greater.

anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that
he rewards those who earnestly seek him.  Heb 11:6
